Hardware Engineer-GOV

Lead a team of diverse technical talent through requirements derivation, system specification and design development, component and system integration, testing and deployment in a Department of Defense research and development program within guidelines set by the System Engineering Integrated Product Team (SE IPT) Lead. Specifically this will include the design and development of hardware for a small, portable, light weight, low power embedded processor with wireless networking capability. Performs make or buy analyses, vendor selection, and technical reviews of proposed commercial products. Ensures integration of hardware, firmware, and software. Contributes to the enhancement of program processes for work completion. Accurately assesses risks and correctly formulates and oversees implementation of mitigation plans. Ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received within allocated resources.Experience: minimum 10 years professional experience in hardware design and development for RF Communications and embedded processors. Experience with wireless systems, wideband networking or Cellular systems helpful. Experience in US Army training device programs with emphasis on telemetry of simulated combat for training or operational testing in field or built up urban areas is desirable. Must be a self starter with demonstrated leadership experience in system engineering and integration programs. Must be able to effectively write and speak, maintain data in a variety of Microsoft products, knowledgeable about DOD 5000.2, CMMI and ANSI processes and procedures
