Works under general direction where the company has contracted to perform building operations at a designated Operations & Maintenance (O&M) location. Conducts preventive maintenance, installation, and commissioning and general servicing of systems (including detailed troubleshooting of systems). This requires a knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, fire, security, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques. Works with minimal direction in the field.



PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

1. Diagnoses and repairs complex system malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems and ability to test and write modifications in multiple languages of systems software.

2. Provides sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings. May assist with job layouts and bid proposals.

3. Trains less experienced representatives

4. Compiles job documentation, such as timesheets, preventative maintenance work orders and punch lists.

5. Participates in the 24 hour on call rotation.

6. Conducts extensive self study (reading, research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in on site product lines.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

Other duties related to the commissioning and servicing of building controls and facilities management systems as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS


Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field. Degree may be offset by two years experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems. At least three years experience as System Representative at JCI or five years experience within the industry. Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent JCI to customers and other outside contacts. Ability to explain technical information to non-technical people. PC experience required and the ability to program software. Experience with Honeywell, Johnson Controls and Lon Works controls equipment would be an asset.
