HMI Responsible Engineer - Plant Computer Functions

Participate in a highly motivated team developing the controls solution for GE's new Economically Simplified Boiling Water Reactor (ESBWR) plant design for the resurging Nuclear Industry. This role will have technical lead responsibility over the team designing and documenting the Plant Computer Functions (PCF) and the integration of various systems that compose the overall control solution.Essential Functions
NSSS System Interface Specification(s), Requirement Specification(s), Purchase Specification(s) for DCIS Hardware/Software and HFE requirements.
Test Requirements & Acceptance Criteria for DCIS.
Lead PCF integration of GE power plant control systems.
Interface with system control teams to ensure complete system integration.
Define and order hardware from system specification.
Develop software from control logic diagrams and/or functional descriptions for GE Mark VIe platform.
Develop HMI screens from P&ID drawings.
Support controls commissioning as required. Typically via e-mail and telephone, but could require site visits.
Automation of control system hardware and software development.
Coordinate with Project Lead for NE-DCIS, Integrators, QA, Configuration Control
Support cross-functional idea generation.
Work closely with CoE Teams, Services, Sourcing, Manufacturing and Finance, and suppliers to coordinate and ensure cross-functional engagement leading to project success.
Support Engineering personnel as an expert in the processes in eMatrix for processing documentation Hardware & Software Specification development (purchase, technical requirements, etc.).
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications
BA / BS or Associate Degree in a technical field or 5+ years experience in hardware, software, and networking design for instrumentation and control systems.
2 years or more experience in nuclear plant instrumentation and control.
Knowledge and/or experience of DCIS Software/Hardware and HFE/HMI requirements (NUREG-0700 and/or 0800, SRP Sections 7 (BTP14 and 18) for Control Room Design.
Knowledgeable and/or experience in Nuclear Power Plant System conceptual design, licensing, design development, DCIS implementation, integration, test, shipment, receiving, site installation, and site test activities (Project life cycle).
Project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and/or prioritizing experience.
Experience in and knowledge of the following C&I equipment and/or suppliers/vendors: Safety and Non Safety-Related DCIS, Neutron Monitoring, Simulator Software, and BWR Main Control Room and Back Panels.
Eligibility Requirements

You must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
If currently a GE employee, you must have been in your current position for at least 12 months and have at least a satisfactory performance rating.
Must be able to start immediately upon hire.
Must be able to relocate to Salem, VA.
Role may be offered at lower or higher band commensurate with experience.Desired: Desired Characteristics
SRO license or certification.
Experience in: ABWR Documentation Management Plans, HFE, C&I, DCIS, and Hardware/Software Procurement; Neutron Monitoring Systems; Software V&V; ISO 9001.
Knowledge of the following: Human Factors development under NUREG 0711, Plant Systems Design Process, C&I Systems Design Process, and Plant Operating Procedures and Training Development Process.
Knowledge and experience in working with the following standards: IEEE 1012, Standard for Verification and Validation Plans; IEEE 1028, Standard for Software Reviews and Audits; IEEE 1228, Standard for Software Safety Plans; IEEE 7-4.3.2, Standard Criteria for Digital Computers in Safety Systems of Nuclear Power Generating Stations; IEEE 829, Standard for Software Test Documentation; and IEEE 1008, Standard for Software Unit Testing.
Knowledge/Experience (5 years) with Mark VIe or other DCIS Hardware/Software applications on large projects.
