Ground Segment Engineer-GOV

This is a Government Solutions, Inc. position on an Alternate Benefit Plan (no Pension). Sorry, interview travel expenses and relocation funds not available. Active TS/SSBI clearance is required to begin work.Performs technical planning, system integrations, engineering design evaluations, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Perform review and analysis on a space control Ground Segment. Performs analyses and recommends alternatives to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures. Works with government program manager monitoring the master plans and schedules, cost and technical performance, and develops solutions to program problems. Ability to provide a wide variety of acquisition technical analyses, and program management support to a government customer. Have a working knowledge of system acquisitions, specifically in Air Force and DoD environments, covering the DoD 5000 series and National Security Space (NSS) 03-01 policies. Assist in the development and review of documents that include requirements and system specifications, monitoring deliverables, and attending acquisition related meetings.Education: B.S. in Engineering or related technical field with MS preferred in Engineering.Required Skills: Minimum of 10 years experience that includes the following: relevant experience in ground segments, space acquisition or operational experience, development of requirements, specifications; and proposals; familiar with a variety of acquisition concepts, phases, practices, and procedures, ability to perform a detailed design evaluation, participate in technical studies, performance reviews, and risk management process; ability to function in a multi-contractor/customer environment, performs a variety of complicated tasks, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected; demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills; and effective written and oral communication skills required. Some travel is required.
