Geologist I / Geotechnical Engineer I

Responsibilities include field investigation, laboratory testing, engineering analyses, development of design drawings, construction specifications, estimated costs and coordination with other team members. During project construction, responsibilities include submittal review and construction observation. Under direct supervision, this person will be responsible for completing well-defined, assigned field and office tasks; learning and honing the fundamentals of Data Collection; data validity and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC); observation and documentation in support of scientific investigations and engineered solutions. Requires working within the context of local, state, federal regulations, client requirements, and as a part of a project team under the direction of a project manager with other staff professionals.Qualifications
0 to 2 yrs progressive experience in geotechnical projects. The ideal candidate must have a strong, technical background in geology or engineering, the ability to provide technical support on projects, and good writing skills. Candidates that have completed applicable internships are preferred. EIT licenses are a plus.Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Oracle experience preferred.The ideal candidate will have a BS Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology and a MS Degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
