General Manager

Our client, an outstanding junior mining company, currently has an opening for a General Manager for a new Heap leach gold project northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada. The ideal candidate will have ten plus years industry experience for this senior level management position. The General Manager is fully responsible for the overall operation of the mining project, including but not limited to the planning, development and control of the project.
REQUIREMENTS
We are seeking candidates with the following skills and qualifications:

•Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining or Geological Engineering preferred.

•Minimum of 10 to 15 years of industry experience and 5 years experience in a similar position, with demonstrated knowledge of project – related activities and their interdependencies.

•Open pit/surface and underground mining experience in gold production.

•Should have broad knowledge of industry production, maintenance and engineering standards as well as a strong understanding of safety and environmental requirements associated with mining projects. Effective problem solving capabilities.

•Strong understanding of budgets with solid organizational, presentation, negotiating and communication skills both oral and written. Must have good computer skills in Microsoft Office and applicable project management softwares.

•Excellent project management skills combined with strong leadership capabilities. Solid interpersonal skills are required to establish and maintain good relationships with public/private agencies/businesses as well as management level relationships.
