SALARY $65,478 - $97,718 Annualized.

EXPERIENCE Minimum of two years professional level GIS (Geographical Information Systems) application and systems development, knowledge of CADD (Computer Aided Drafting and Design) and GIS Standards with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Experience developing and maintaining applications using ESRI software is required. GISP (GIS Professional) certification is highly desirable. Preferred candidates will have experience overseeing design and maintenance of GIS utilizing an Oracle Geospatial Database with ArcGIS Server in a high availability server environment. Candidates should have demonstrated experience leading a technical team, performing contract administration duties, project management skills and program development. The GIS manager will have experience consulting with a user community to develop future GIS requirements and upgrades. Background in transportation is highly desired. Other combinations of experience and education that meet minimum qualifications may be substituted.

DUTIES This position will lead the Aviation Department's GIS technical section by developing and implementing GIS administrative procedures. The incumbent will serve as the primary point of contact for GIS services. The GIS Program Manager will direct the survey and data processing work required to create and update the Aviation GIS database. This person will administer the aerial photo contracts needed and be responsible for coordinating the development and integration of new GIS applications. Currently there is one vacancy in the Aviation Department.

ALSO REQUIRED All positions in the Aviation Department will be required to pass a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) background check, and a City of Phoenix or other law enforcement agency fingerprint check prior to hire. All positions in this classification require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess an appropriate valid Arizona driver's license, possess personal insurance coverage, and have an acceptable driving record.

RESIDENCE Maricopa County residency is required within 24 months after the date of hire and must be maintained.
