GIS Applications Developer

Dewberry is seeking a highly motivated GIS Application Developer to become part of our Geographic Services Division in Fairfax, VA. The successful candidate will develop desktop, web-based, and field GIS applications for a wide range of engineering and technology projects. The candidate will participate in gathering requirements, designing and developing databases and applications, conducting testing, assisting with implementations, providing implementation support, and preparing technical documentation. General Requirements: ?Bachelor's degree or higher in geography, computer science, or related field ?At least 4 years of professional experience ?Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills ?Experienced with web-based and desktop application design in a spatial environment, using industry-standard application development tools, standard software development methodologies, and relational databases -Understanding of client/server technology, server architecture, and networking protocols -Ability to analyze user requirements and translate them into a GIS application. -Must be able to interact effectively with clients and team members -Must be able to complete multiple concurrent assignments with minimal supervision -Ability to work overtime hours as needed -Ability to obtain a security clearance -Must be willing to travel -Strong communication skills are a MUST Specific Requirements: -Strong overall ESRI product experience, including ArcGIS, ArcIMS, and ArcSDE -Expertise in developing applications for ArcGIS (ArcObjects) and ArcIMS -Proficient in Visual Basic, JavaScript, HTML/JS/CSS, XML, ASP, .NET -Experience with Apache/IIS -Eerience with Oracle and SQL Server -Experience with Java
