Formulations Chemist

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
This individual will participate in focused projects leading to new technical capability and business for the corporation. This individual will also conduct technical service and laboratory investigations to assist our customers, sales and operations staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working with the Product Development Manager and Market Managers to identify and prioritize Development Group projects.
Participating in planning and conduction of the work required in focused technical projects.
Conducting technical service investigations and Form R, SARA reporting.
Maintaining records and providing written reports on work.
Function proactively in suggesting and investigating opportunities for the company
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS:
Broad technical experience in the plastics, chemical, or colorants field.
Bachelors degree in chemistry or polymer science, MS preferred
Proven track record in formulation and dispersion science.
Knowledge and experience dealing with surfactant chemistry or colloidal science.
Excellent Project management and organizational skills.
Hands on, motivated individual capable of carrying out his/her own research.
Creative thinker, capable of presenting results in either report or presentation in manner easily understood by non-technical employees or customers.
Proactive—capable of making decisions or taking action without waiting for instruction.
Ability to add value to the organization quickly.
Experience with EPA and related functions.
