Senior Electrical Power System Technicians

We are seeking both full-time and contract employees. We have multiple openings for both Categories. We are seeking experienced Electrical Technicians and Electricians familiar with testing, maintenance, commissioning, repair, and installation of electrical power equipment. Equipment includes everything on an electric power system ranging from 12 volts to 550 Kv.


We have a particular need for the following:

Technicians with UPS and Battery Experience. Troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and installation.
Relay Technicians - Familiar with power system protection relays, both electrical-mechanical and electronic.
Senior Test Technicians - Technicians who can test and maintain power system equipment
High Voltage Substation and Transmission Linemen, Journeymen, and Technicians - Familiar with the contruction of electrical substations and transmission lines to 138 KV

We currently have openings in Houston, Lake Charles, Corpus Christi, and Baton Rouge. This includes openings for both contract work and full-time employment. Contract employees can include anything from working a few hours per week, to taking a 1 to 2 week assignment, to working for 2-6 months, or project work extending into years.

Test Technicians should have a minimum of 3 years experience on Testing, maintenance, repair, or installation of any/all of the following electrical equipment - Switchgear ( 480v, 5kv, 15kv ), MCCs, Oil filled Transformers, Relays ( electromechanical, electronic ), Circuit Breakers ( MCCB, ICCB, Swgr ), MCCs, SF6 Equipment ( Circuit breakers, ISO Phase Bus, GIS ), UPS systems, Batteries, Substation equipment ( 69 Kv to 765 Kv ), Oil filled Circuit Breakers, Cable Testing, Motor Testing, HV circuit switchers, and other Power related equipment.

A technical degree is preferred, but we will also look at directly related experience as well. Candidates should have good communications skills, both written and spoken. They should have basic computer skills so that they can handle the requirements of writing technical reports. We are a service business that operates on a 24/7 basis, so there will be some requirements for overtime, limited travel, and weekend work. We are focused on the Gulf Coast, but work throughout the US and internationally as well. We are staffed such that we can typically use volunteers to handle our international assignments.
