Experienced Nuclear Safety Radiological Analysis Engineer

Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, EnergyFunction: Engineering/ Product DevelopmentResponsibilities: Perform technical evaluations and analyses in the area of radiological analysis
Perform work in compliance with NRC regulated policies and procedures
Interface with internal and external customers on technical issues
Experienced candidates will be expected to lead projects, train less experienced engineers, provide mentoring coaching, etc.
Support Company initiatives including Six Sigma process improvement and New Product Introduction
Work within a team environment to perform technical evaluations and analyses in the area of radiological analysis to support a variety of applications including power uprate, plant operational support and new power plant analyses (ABWR and ESBWR).
Demonstrated high energy and the ability to energize others
Detail oriented and accountable for completion of work and assignments
Team player with strong leadership capabilities
Clearly and confidently communicates based on deep understanding
Ability to achieve stretch targets
Honest and straightforward with a high level of personal integrity
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: BS Nuclear Engineering or BS in Health Physics
Background in shielding, criticality and dose analyses
At least 5 years of experience in the nuclear industryDesired: M.S. Degree or Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering or Health Physics preferred
Experience with BWRs
M.S. Degree or Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering or Health Physics preferred
Experience in radiological dose, shielding and criticality analyses
Experience with radiological codes such as MCNP, DORT, KENO, ARCON, RADTRAC, ORIGEN
Knowledge of reactor licensing requirements
Knowledge of new plant licensing
Knowledge of reactor fluence evaluations
Team player with strong leadership capabilities
Self-start with a positive, can-do attitude
Legacy of delivering on commitments; tenacious, with a proven track record of overcoming obstacles
Strong external focus; clear and demonstrated understanding of nuclear industry and/or energy industry
Excellent writing and verbal communications skillsGeneral: *Must be able to start immediately upon hire
