Equipment Technician

Transitions Optical, Inc., a joint venture of PPG Industries, Inc., and Essilor International, is seeking an Equipment Technician. This assignment will be located at our Pinellas Park, FL facility. The Equipment Technician is responsible for electrical/mechanical maintenance and support of all production equipment. Duties are to work with staff in a variety of functions including, but not limited to, safety, quality, operations, and process. Perform regularly scheduled PM’s for equipment and clean rooms., troubleshoot equipment problems, assist in collection and analysis of OEE data, support the development and implementation of solutions to improve performance and reliability, complete Safety/Housekeeping activities, and all activities as requested by Shift Supervisor and BU Manager. Candidates are required to have:
oA minimum of 2 years manufacturing operations experience
oAn A.S. technical degree or Journeyman’s license
oIntermediate electro/mechanical skills
oIntermediate computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Maximo)
oKnowledge in the safe use of shop equipment
oAbility to interact with others in a professional manner
oKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and cycle time calculations preferred
oDesired statistical analysis tools (SPC)
oDesired basic OEE knowledge
