Environmental Specialist

Gulf South Pipeline Company, LP is seeking an Environmental Specialist for our Houston office to participate in a multidiscipline team on major projects within its Environmental Affairs organization. The person selected for this role may choose to be hired as a regular full time employee of Gulf South or to work on a contract basis. This position will report to the Director of Environmental Affairs and will be responsible for assistance in the selection and direction of environmental contractors, review and approval of their work, interaction with regulatory agencies, preparation of reports, development and implementation of plans, etc. The position may require travel approximately 25%-50% of the time.



Successful candidates for this position will have at least 5 years of environmental experience, an Environmental or Engineering degree or equivalent experience, good knowledge of pipeline environmental construction issues, experience on major FERC pipeline projects, and previous training at FERC seminars. Also required for the individual in this role are strong verbal and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills with the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team, a logical thought process, and good regulatory analysis skills. Physical requirements of this position include trips to the Field and walking across undeveloped and developed land.
