Environmental Engineer (Scientist)
Purpose: Our Client is an engineering consulting firm that provides specialized services to help develop, protect, and meet the challenges of the earth's resources. The engineers, hydrologists, and geologists that comprise its staff have broad experience, allowing our client to offer expert services in a wide range of earth-science disciplines, including environmental engineering, civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, hydrology, geology, soils, and environmental permitting.
Established in 1982, our client opened its doors in response to a demand for well-trained professionals in the earth sciences who could combine practical, efficient field investigations with state-of the art design and analytical capabilities at a competitive price. Since their inception, they have grown to their present level of approximately 15 professionals and support personnel.
Despite its relatively small size, they have successfully completed projects the size and geographic extent of which are normally undertaken only by much larger companies. In addition to extensive experience in Utah, they have performed work in such diverse locations as Oregon, North Carolina, Papua New Guinea, Russia, and several other locations, often concurrently. They are experienced and comfortable completing projects ranging from a $1,000 site reconnaissance to a multi-million dollar design and construction management effort.
As an Environmental Scientist, you will be responsible for assessment and writing of Phase I / II site assessments. Other responsibilities could include assisting in groundwater sampling, drilling and logging core samples. Will be accountable for keeping detailed field notes and preparing precise technical reports and documents. Other responsibilities and projects can be given according to experience level and qualifications.
Qualifications:
* BS degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or similar programs
* 40 Hr HAZWOPER and current refresher, strongly desired
* At least 1 year of experience with Phase I/II site assessment work, sampling and drilling.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Good handwriting and note taking abilities.
* Computer literate, MS Word, MS Excel, & Corel (MS Access, AutoCAD or other programs are a plus)
* Ability to work in a team environmental, as well as independently.
* Detail oriented.
