Environmental Chemist
Founded in 1988, E2 currently has a staff of 130 engineers, scientists, and technical specialists. We operate at offices and sites throughout the United States and serve the private sector, public utilities, and clients in federal, state, and local agencies.E2 has an exciting opportunity for an environmental chemist or scientist that has 3 to 6 years of professional experience, to work on a variety of environmental investigation/remediation projects. THIS IS NOT A LABORATORY POSITION. The successful candidate will interact with project managers to execute all chemistry related activities associated with project implementation and delivery, including pre-, during-, and post- environmental sampling field efforts. In addition, this job will include environmental chemistry support that will require basic relational database skills to supply data to users using simple and complex queries.
Depending upon the location of the right candidate, the position can be filled in one of the following cities: Oakland, Redding, or Sacramento, CA.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualified individuals should have a minimum of a B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, Geology, or Engineering, and 3 to 6 years of analytical environmental chemistry.Familiarity with analytical chemistry methods and concepts will be necessary.The qualified candidate will have experience with data review and validation.Attention to detail is required since many of the functions of this position are in support of quality assurance and quality control activities.Good communication skills are needed to communicate effectively with contract laboratories, the project teams and the project managers.The individual should have the attributes to become a strong employee(team player, eagerness to learn and grow, self-starter that takes initiative, versatile, and has a service mentality).It would be beneficial if the individual has OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPPER training for those instances when field support is necessary.
