Base Description:
The Engineering Technician will be a key member of the company’s research and development group.
Duties:
Responsibilities include providing assistance in prototype fabrication, both mechanical and electrical, and product testing/validation as well as field failure troubleshooting as the need arises.
The Engineering Technician will also participate in customer site evaluations, upgrades of hardware and/or software, product installations, and client prototype validation challenges.
Other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
Associates degree in electronics with 5 years experience in product prototype development or fabrication, or a Bachelor’s degree in related engineering discipline. Requires mechanical aptitude, strong troubleshooting skills, and excellent organizational and record keeping skills. The successful candidate will work in a project environment and therefore must possess skills to multitask on selected design projects. Experience with air sampling equipment and component and subsystem reliability testing a plus.
Candidates must also possess proficiency in the hands-on construction of prototypes, both mechanical and component level electrical, as well as have good insight into the process of evaluation of such prototypes for form, fit, and function.
Software Knowledge: Microsoft Office Tools a must, experience with LabView would be a plus.
All candidates must pass background checks as a condition of employment. Additionally, US citizenship and ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance required.
Ability to travel in the USA and occasionally abroad, as required. The position requires technical insight as well as strong interpersonal skills and superior written and oral communication abilities. Good analytical skills with the ability to communicate scientific and business information effectively. Requires working independently and therefore must be self-motivated and self- directed.
