Engineering Studio Manager

Purpose: Candidate description for the Engineering Studio Manager

The desired candidate must be a registered professional mechanical engineer with a minimum of five years experience designing plumbing and mechanical systems for commercial tenant improvement type projects. Arizona registration is a plus but not a requirement. If not registered in Arizona the candidate must become registered in Arizona within a reasonable period of time after starting work at the company. Candidate will be equally motivated to be a manager as well as an engineer

The Engineering Studio Manager position is expected to perform the following functions:
Manage the Engineering Studio
Mentor both the Mechanical and Electrical Designers working in the Engineering Studio
Manage client accounts
Provide training for junior mechanical and plumbing designers
Plan and schedule the work load within the Engineering Studio
Perform production design work utilizing AUTOCAD as well as other automated tools

It is important for the candidate to understand that the professional rewards for the position will be through the management of the studio and building client relationships. For this reason the ideal candidate will not be a traditional engineer. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

Good technical skills
