Engineering-Manufacturing 3

Provide Manufacturing Engineering support to all facets of the manufacturing operations including but not limited to: Tool Design, Tool Repair, PTI's, Process Improvement, Cause and Corrective Action, New Business Proposal and Tool Estimating.

Generate tool drawings and production illustrations utilizing CATIA v. 4.2.4 and CADAM design software
Plan, develop and execute manufacturing plans, tooling and equipment requirements for composite detail production which includes honeycomb core, hand layup of composites and subsequent trim processes
Work with shop personnel, develop and implement process improvements for manufacturing with cost reduction as a goal
Conceptualize and draft efficient and cost effective tool designs for the manufacture and processing of advanced composite structures
Manage tooling projects from design phase through fabrication along with capital equipment items to support production start-up
Create non-recurring cost and labor estimates for tooling and equipment during proposal efforts
Assume project responsibilities for scheduling and fabrication of in-house and vendor supplied tooling items, supporting vendor fabrication by working on-site to lend technical assistance
Support production shops on a day to day basis to resolve issues with respect to production work orders and tooling related items
Perform corrective action investigations into production part discrepancies and initiate required actions to preclude reoccurrence
Generate tooling workorders and support tool rework activities within various in-house tool shops
Have a general understanding of various tooling rework processes such as welding, epoxy lamination, metallic jigs and fixture repair and laser tracker utilization
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will typically have a bachelor"&tm;s degree or equivalent and six years of related experience. CATIA V4 experience required. CATIA V5 experience a plus.
