Engineering Manager - Medical Injection Molding

Interested? Map out your future here….right now! My client is currently looking for a Engineering Manager responsible for:

Knowledge of high volume plastic injection molding. Plans, directs and compiles capability studies on injection molding machines and associated processes. Conducts all necessary Design of Experiments for optimizing and establishing injection molding process windows.

Responsible for developing molding processes for new products or resins and improving existing processes to achieve cost savings, quality and/or efficiency improvement goals. Regularly oversees validations.

Works to minimize time-to-market and anticipate problem and potential bottlenecks in order to remove or minimize them before they occur in production. Reviews or reduces cycle standards without affecting quality to minimize part cost and increase profit margins.

Manages engineering databases including all customer product data, tool design and fabrication data.

Develops/directs 3D mold design for plastic part to be produced using the CAD system. Develops/directs 3D electrode design for tool production.

Provides mold flow analysis for customer product files and company tooling designs.

Coordinates mold and tooling projects to meet tooling requirements, capital and expense budgets, and estimates on engineering hours and assists in tooling estimates. Generates engineering schedules to meet the on time/on cost objectives of each tool.

Provides guidance for a high quality, efficient mold fabrication process. Provides engineering and modeling support for product development. Provides feedback to customers on part/tooling concerns.

Provides technical support and advice for the most economical repairs of existing tooling. Serves as the technical mentor for tool room supervisor and mold makers. Conducts various studies and programs as necessary to determine the root cause(s) and solution to undesirable variations in machine processes.

Assists in carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws

REQUIREMENTS
Technical/engineering Bachelor's degree, from four-year college or university and minimum 5 years related experience and/or training; or six to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with computer integrated manufacturing monitoring systems for injection molding. Strong computer skills are required. Ability to setup, optimize and troubleshoot injection molding processes.
