Engineering Director - Phoenix

Oversee the Western Region Engineering organization providing professional engineering, designing, planning, direction and coordination of capital investment projects and water and wastewater utility plants. Provide strategic planning, coordination and implementation of engineering programs to improve operating performance to meet regulatory requirements and to improve operational efficiency.

Provide technical expertise and direction to ensure compliance with engineering programs, projects and policies. Ensure integrity of sources of supply, production, treatment and distribution and collection system facilities.
REQUIREMENTS
Requires BS Civil Engineering or related degree and PE; Masters degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years experience in utility engineering and operations, including management.

In depth knowledge of engineering theories related to planning, design and operations concepts for water resource management facilities, and knowledge of contract administration and construction technology related to water facilities. Good working knowledge of regulatory developments, new technology and current trends in water quality and water treatment and other related water resource management disciplines. Knowledge of utility accounting and economics. Knowledge of environmental and engineering regulatory requirements, as well as general knowledge of utility operations. Water and wastewater operations, engineering planning and design, construction and project management. Knowledge of regulatory requirements, particularly in AZ and CA.
