Job DescriptionDUTIES: Senior, solution-oriented, engineering professional, with excellent writing skills, organizational skills, and the ability to PE stamp work performed by subordinate engineers. Makes technical decisions and recommendations that directly affect project, program, and office technical performance. Independently performs multitask field, project, and/or proposal work, with minimal errors. Requires professional exercise of judgment when performing complex work with the following elements: conflicting design requirements, conflicting regulatory requirements, quality issues, budget and scheduling conflicts, and/or within a difficult internal and external coordination environment. Will be responsible for, and must have accomplished several of the following: Resolves complex or novel assignments by developing new and/or improved features of work. Work is expected to result in successful implementation of new or improved theories, precepts, practices, or tangible end product, while safely maintaining consistency with Shaw work and industry standard procedures. Maintain utilization goals and project commitments set by Project Manager/Technical Discipline Lead. Supervise others in meeting their goals and commitments. Performs detailed technical analysis of multivariate issues both within and peripheral to core competency. Work is expected to require the use of advanced and/or modified approaches, methodologies, practices, procedures, and/or techniques. Plans, schedules, coordinates, and completes complex assignments largely performed by others. Understands the capabilities of others and coordinates the staffing of projects. Assesses technical and economic viability of complex project approach with a limited data set. Maintains technical competency and knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and trends. Publishes and presents technical papers within the core competency. REQUIREMENTS: Civil Engineering degree, current California Civil Engineering PE, and 8+ years relevant project experience. Structural or Geotechnical PE, advanced civil engineering-related degree, and continuing education in core competency is highly desired. CONDITIONS: Work environment consists of office, meeting, laboratory or project field setting. Daily travel to local client sites, periodic overnight travel to more distant client sites is required. Extended (weeks to months duration) travel may be required per client need. Ability to work independently and within groups to complete the assignment is essential. REF:CAAR502337
