Engineer, Telecom Network Anal

The position of Engineer, Telecom Network Analyst will primarily focus on 3rd party implementations, engineering, maintenance and administration of Wyeth's network security infrastructure globally. Platforms include Cisco Routers, Nortel Gateways, Checkpoint, Netscreen, Cisco Pix & Juniper Proxies. You will deploy and maintain Network Security infrastructure globally which includes IOS upgrades, ensuring documentation is accurate and posted for support purposes, confirming failover works as designed and ensuring new links are being monitored. You will deploy and maintain for Wyeth's remote access infrastructure globally which includes OS Upgrades, ensuring documentation is accurate and posted for support purposes, confirming failover works as designed and ensuring new links are being monitored. You will provide second level support for 3rd party connectivity and Network Security infrastructure globally, which includes on call as well as on site when required. You will deploy S2S/LESS VPN where applicable, including establishing failover tunnel where applicable to add redundancy to the regions, ensuring documentation is accurate and posted for support purposes, confirming failover works as designed and ensuring new link is being monitored. You will create a consistent set of monthly performance metrics to be used by the regional owners for showing the status of their region and performance increases/decreases. This includes proactive monitoring and notification to global engineers showing possible network performance issues that may arise in the future, investigate large swings in bandwidth performance and utilization as it may relate to the rollout of an application, additional users be added to a site, etc., number of Sev 1 outages per region to trend increases and decreases and quantify why outages occur (rainy season, hurricane season, etc.), clear statistics & outage reporting (all severities) for network security outgages in all regions, and proactively monitor and report on the health of the Network security infrastructure to insure the business needs of Wyeth are being met.This position requires a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience, and a minimum of 3-5 years experience (prefer 5-7 years in a team environment). Must be able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all levels of clients, e.g. front line to executive. Requires training and/or extensive experience in two or more supported platforms (Cisco VPN's, Cisco Routing (BGP, EIGRP), Checkpoint VPNs, Juniper Proxies, Cisco PIX, Netscreen Firewalls).
