Engineer Staff Senior

Perform complex engineering design, analysis, evaluation, and tests requring creativity and extensive technical knowledge. Generate System Segment Specifications, Interface Control Documents, Operator Instruction Manuals, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), and other CDRLs as needed. Supervise and delegate responsiblity to other members of the technical staff. Perform detailed system design; generate assembly drawings and wire run lsits, recommend and select components.1. Assume a lead role in establishing superior technical positions on proposals, and play a key role in major proposals.2. Conduct special technical studies and investigations. Present findings to technical staff and or customers via lectures and/or presentations.3. Contribute ideas for developing new technical capabilites, new IR & D, and/or new products from conception to development.4. Conduct preliminary and advanced design studies or analysis.5. Recommend technical approaches to enhance TSO competitiveness.6. Assume technical leadership in field of expertise.7. Delegate responsibility and monitor work and documentation from team members. Keeping team focused on main objective of system specification.8. Perform system integrations testing.

Twelve (12) or more years of directly related experience. Must have excellent troubleshooting skills and working knowledge of a variety of interfaces: RS-232, IEEE-488, IEEE-1394, USB, Mil-Std-1553B, ISA, VME, PCI, IDE, Ethernet, and SCSI. Experience with board level products such as power suppplies, interface cards, CPUs, and stoage devices. Comfortable working with all types of signals including; power, analog, discrete, differential, video, digital, and RF. Design of large rack based systems to single embedded boards. Computer architecture, hardware/software interfaces. General knowledge of various operating systems and BIOS. Work with firmware and programmable logic. Use design tools and test equipment. Complex radar jamming systems knowledge a plus. Ability to reverse engineer systems without drawings. Update old/antiquate systems. Knowledge of military specifications, aircraft interfaces and cabling/connectors. Must keep abreast of new and emerging technology. Must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
