Engineer - Sr. Product Development Engineer

Belimo (USA), Inc. is a world leader in the design, manufacture and marketing of damper actuators and control valve assemblies used in commercial HVAC systems. Belimo is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer to join the dynamic Technology Group. This position is responsible for mechanical design and development from conceptualization to production of control valves for the commercial HVAC industry. The Senior Product Development Engineer leads projects and will work within a project-oriented, hands-on, team environment, interfacing closely with other Engineers, Product Management and Product Procurement. The position requires strong documentation capabilities for engineering changes of existing products and product life-cycle management. Limited travel may also be required.Responsibilities:
-Responsible for the design development, qualification, process development and documentation of products designed at facility. These include the mechanical mechanisms for new valves, accessories, brackets, housings, linkages, minor modifications to actuators such as special cables, markings and labels.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of engineering documentation including prints, bill of materials and technical specifications.
Know and understand the market for valves in the Americas: product applications, customers, competitors, customer buying criteria, standards, approvals and codes. Maintain continual awareness of market trends and changes.
Detail the requirements for new product developments in the form of a Product Specification Document as the first step in the product development process to meet new customer requirements.
Make proposals for product enhancements and improvements.
Work with sales and marketing to co-ordinate special sales projects for specific customers to expand the sales of valves.
Maintain the technical correctness of all product and technical literature (internal to engineering).
Provide technical application and product support
Provide product and technical training as needed to others
Co-ordinate the initialization and introduction of new product introductions
REQUIREMENTS
Education: B.S. Mechanical Engineer minimumSkill Requirements:
Experience in related fields (7 years)Mechanical design with strong understanding of engineering fundamentals
Experience in product development
Good working knowledge of material properties
Solid understanding of manufacturing technologies
Knowledge of rapid prototype processes
Experimental test analysis
Experience in 3D CADKnowledge of fluid mechanics,Must have organized documentation and exceptional communication skills
Proficiency in project managementPluses:
Knowledge of SAP, PLM(I-deas) softwareCFD and FEA analysisHVAC application experience
