Full Job Title: Engineer/Scientist 4 Skills Management Title Electrical/Electronic Sys DsgnJob Level: NONEXEMPTBusiness Component: Commercial Airplanes (BCA)Job Description: Hardware Engineer for CAS Simulator Update Services. The position is responsible to: assist define hardware requirements for updates; assist in definition of interface requirements to integrate hardware into new and existing simulation; generate parts lists for updates; research vendors and define purchase requirements; co-ordinate hardware delivery schedules with vendors; install and test hardware into simulator environment; assist with the integration and testing of the completed systems to ensure they match the aircraft; creation of Acceptance Test Manuals (ATM) and documentation to support contract requirements; and support site activities as required to ensure successful integration and acceptance of updates. Competencies Candidate must have a proven background in hardware implementation and integration in simulation and a passion for the training simulator industry. A strong avionics background and understanding aircraft hardware and simulated aircraft components use in a simulator is essential. Understanding of methods relating to qualification of training simulators, simulator data package design and modification, customer requirements analysis and international and domestic regulatory standards useful. Working knowledge of multiple simulator manufacturers design philosophies, strong Boeing aircraft knowledge and understanding of configuration control methods important. Candidate must be flexible and able to handle a dynamic environment where customer requirements and schedules change frequently.Notes: Typically a minimum of 13 years simulator and/or aircraft avionics or hardware experience. This position requires a significant amount of travel for extended periods.
