Support the planning, coordination and execution of the GMD GBI Element flight testing at the Vandenberg AFB. Support the development and preparation of GBI Interceptor Test Procedures. Develop expert knowledge of Avionic Systems of the GBI Interceptor including Space Integrated GPS/INS, Flight Computer, Modular Avionics Control Hardware, Payload Avionics, Telemetry and non-tactical avionics. Execute test plans and procedures for the missile assembly, missile ground testing, pre-launch integration and launch operations. Interact with Subcontractors and other GMD IPTs in the coordination of customer requirements and Avionics operations. Document test evaluation in reports. This assignment will involve supporting console operation during Electrical Test of Flight Test GBIs at VAFB and establishing effective working relationship with GBI personnel and subcontractors. Participate in Flight Test Team integration meetings requiring travel to development and integration sites. Test support may require extensive travel to other test site areas. Competencies REQUIRED: Minimum 4 years of engineering experience with system integration test experience. Experience with missile test operations and flight test processes. Knowledge of flight, ground and laboratory test requirements. Knowledge of engineering documents. Knowledge of test vehicles (e.g., aircraft, rocket, satellite), including system operation (e.g., flight controls, avionics, hydraulics/pneumatics). The ability to attend to and verify the accuracy and completeness of detailed information. This also includes the ability to identify missing or inconsistent information or data. Listens effectively; demonstrates understanding; clarifies meaning for others; speaks with clarity and precision; able to communicate with a diverse audience; writes clearly and concisely. Specific experience in the areas of Air Defense Missile Systems testing, Ballistic Missile Defense testing and interceptor flight test. Flight test experience at a flight test range (KMR, VAFB, ETR, WSMR).Notes: ADDITIONAL EDUCATION: Electrical, Systems, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering disciplines preferred
