The Orange facility in Orange, TX is a world class manufacturing facility providing chemical intermediates for the manufacture of Nylon-6,6. The Nylon Intermediates facilities consist of adiponitrile, adipic acid, and hexamethylenediamine products. Learn more about our Intermediates business here.
We are currently seeking a research engineer to work as part of the research and development team for Nylon Intermediates.
Role Description:
Lead programs related to process improvement, process troubleshooting and new technology development. Job responsibilities include the design of lab/semi works equipment, developing project proposals, the planning and execution of experimental programs, and the supervision of technicians in the laboratory. A strong technical orientation, problem-solving and innovation skills are essential. The role requires interfacing with manufacturing technical personnel, business and technical leadership.
REQUIREMENTS
Your skills and background should include:
PhD in Chemical Engineering with 0-10 years experience in chemical process R&D
Prior experience in semi works or pilot plant operation is desired, but not essential
Strong background in fundamental chemical engineering principles with specialization in homogeneous/heterogeneous catalysis and/or reaction engineering
Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze and interpret pilot plant data
Good interpersonal, oral and written communication and organizational skills, and the ability to function effectively in a team environment
Pilot plant operations involve handling of significant quantities of highly toxic and flammable materials. The candidate must therefore have a strong focus on process safety.
