The Seaford Delaware site is a world class manufacturing facility for the manufacture of Nylon-6,6. We are about 45 minutes from the Delaware and Maryland coast beaches and 1.5-2.5 hours from Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, and Philadelphia, PA. The Seaford area offers an excellent quality of life with the beach, bay and metro cities readily accessible.



Position Summary:

Work as part of a technical team providing process control engineering support and assistance to the Nylon manufacturing facilities at the Seaford site. The process control engineer works closely with the process engineering and operations groups to provide day-to-day support, but the larger element of the role is longer-range development of process improvements, cost reduction efforts and capability upgrades. Responsibilities generally include:

Utilizing process control techniques to significantly enhance plant operation and profitability

Monitoring of site process control systems for optimal operation

Providing technical knowledge/support to Polymer area including basic troubleshooting and facilities & process modifications

Working with production, maintenance, and first line supervision to define and resolve problems within the production facility

Providing input into process related safety, quality, and environmental incident investigations

Applying fundamental knowledge of cost and forecasting in implementing facilities and process modifications

Leveraging local and corporate technical resources in troubleshooting and facilities/process modifications

Interacting with vendors and suppliers to develop/obtain equipment specifications and information

Participating on PHA (Process Hazard Analysis) teams
REQUIREMENTS
Your skills and background should include:

B.S. in Engineering

5 years minimum manufacturing experience

5 years minimum applied process control experience

Working knowledge of DCS systems, including building points, schematics, and CL code

Basic knowledge of facility/process design including engineering & PSM standards

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve process problems

Ability to design meaningful experiments/tests/evaluations

Strong computer skills (spreadsheets, word processing, data analysis software, etc.)

Strong/demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work effectively with all personnel regardless of function/level

Ability to work in a team environment with operators, mechanics and exempt professionals

Interest in developing others to allow for transfer of capabilities to the operating and maintenance organizations

Strong organizational and planning skills

Fundamental knowledge of cost and capital including ability to monitor and forecast expenditures

Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and programs for timely completion



Preferred:

Polymer process engineering experience

PLC experience
