Engineer - Pipeline/Compression

Gulf South Pipeline Company, LP is seeking an Engineer for our Houston office located in the Greenway Plaza area. This position will be responsible for providing engineering and project management for large capital growth and expansion projects. Responsibilities include: evaluation and recommendation of alternatives; establishment, direction and support of interdisciplinary teams; development and execution of project plans, budgets and schedules; oversight and management of third-party engineering and construction. Typical work hours for this position are 45 per week, with additional time required as needed to meet deadlines. The position requires approximately 20% travel.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline and 8-10 years engineering and project management experience in the Natural Gas Pipeline industry. This individual must have experience in industry-related safety, environmental and regulatory compliance, FERC 7C report preparation, agency permitting, and in-depth knowledge of DOT 192 and ASME 31.8. Qualified candidates will be motivated self-starters with strong communication skills (both verbal and written). This person must have the ability to identify and build competent project teams, define roles and responsibilities, and set high expectations.

Physical requirements of the position include the ability to: walk long distances (2 miles) and/or climb ladders or scaffolding to investigate project planning/field routing/project alternatives, lift up to 50 pounds, and drive a company vehicle.
