REQUIREMENTS
DESCRIPTION:
To provide engineering support for electronic and electro-mechanical assembly equipment and processes, including the development, initiation and modification of processes for the production of new components; fabrication and testing of new machine components and tooling for the production of new products; development of preventive maintenance programs for production and assembly machinery, tooling and equipment; testing of processes and machinery to identify and resolve production problems; development and implementation of ergonomic improvements; and training of line Associates in equipment operation and maintenance.QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge/Experience:
•Thorough knowledge of the principles of electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering.
•Working knowledge of the principles and practices of JIT Manufacturing theory in a high-volume, labor intensive manufacturing environment.
•Familiarity with improvement process systems including identification, planning, implementation and auditing.
•Computer literacy and ability to operate computer controlled machinery and equipment.
•Ability to understand and interpret blueprints, mechanical and electrical drawings, engineering designs and specifications, and operating instructions.
•Thorough working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of electrical and electronic assembly machinery and equipment.
•Demonstrated experience w/ Reflow & SMT, axial, radial, odd-shape insertion, wave solder, selective solder, conformal coating in-circuit & functional testing.•Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of time studies and line balancing.
•Thorough knowledge of the principles and applications of statistical process control.
•Familiarity with the properties of, and working experience with, electronic components, including transistors, diodes, and capacitors.
•Good oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
•Good analytical and problem solving skills.Education/Training:•Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering technology from an ABET accredited institution combined with a minimum of 2 – 5 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering.
