Engineer, Mechanical Senior

Job Responsibilities:
Schneider Electric, the global leader of electrical distribution and control products, has an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer in the Knightdale, NC facility. This mechanical engineer will be responsible for design, implementation, and maintenance of automation equipment, test equipment, and assembly fixtures/tools with respect to safety, production requirements, published design specifications, manufacturability, cycle times, plant costs, and project cost.
Major responsibilities include: Create mechanical layouts, do design, and completely document mechanical fixturing, test equipment and design support efforts necessary for the implementation/industrialization of new products, including improvements to existing product manufacturing processes. Must be able to work within tight schedule constraints and be able to provide low cost solutions to complex problems. Strict compliance to OSHA, NFPA, and EN safety directives is a joint responsibility of this position, the controls designers, and the industialization engineers. Must work well with other team members.
Requirements: BS in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years experience in the design of mechanical equipment in a production environment. Applicant must be proficient in the use of 3D solid modeling CAD software, with at least a basic knowledge of ProE.
