GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The Engineer, Market Development supports the operation of various PJM Markets (LMP, FTR, Day-ahead Energy Market) on a daily basis using an in-depth knowledge of the hardware and software used to clear these markets.

Required:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical) or equivalent.
0-5 years experience (Band III)
At least 5 years experience (Band IV)
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
Demonstrated ability to visualize and solve complex problems
Experience/training in computer programming/application development
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to work closely with peers in a teamwork environment.
Good written and verbal communications.
Preferred:
Knowledge of power system engineering concepts, principles, standards and reliability concepts.
Experience with Oracle PL/SQL.
General understanding of evolving industry regulatory and technical issues as they apply to the PJM system and the role of PJM as an ISO/RTO.Essential Skills
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Engineer, Market Development responsibilities will include, but are not limited too, the following:
Ability to understand the operational and technical aspects of PJM’s Markets including Day-Ahead Market, Fixed Transmission Right Auction and real-time Locational Marginal Price calculation.
Ability to provide customer support and training.
Ability to work with other members of the Market Services Division and Real-Time Operations Department in problem-solving and streamlining processes.
Ability to create technical software tools to support Market Operations and Market Settlements.
