Engineer II - Engineer V, Area Planning

Perform systematic studies of the subtransmission system to ensure adequate capacity and reliability for current and future needs of GTC's Member Systems. Identify, initiate, develop, and seek ITS inclusion for all needed subtransmission capital improvement porjects and load-serving capacity increase projects. Perform required studies to ensure that the subtransmission system can support proposed load-serving additions. Support the development of the ITS Load Forecast.
REQUIREMENTS
B.S. Degree in electrical Engineering. Concentration in Power preferred.

Engineer II requires Eighteen months with an electrical engineering background.

Engineer III requires three (3) years in electric utility industry with at least eighteen months in distribution or transmission planning.

Engineer IV requires six (6) years in electric utility industry or four(4) years in electric utility and a P.E. License.

Engineer V requires eight (8) years in electric utility industry or six(6) years in electric utility and a P.E. License.

Equivalent Experience: A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Special Skills/Knowledge: IBM PC proficiency; excellent interpersonal skills; good understanding of power systems analysis, good oral and written communication skills; good understanding of engineering economics.
