Engineer I - (Geologic Engineer/Geologist/Hydrogeology)

Our Nashville, Tennessee office has an immediate opening for an Entry Level Geologic Engineer/Geologist/Hydrogeology. Responsibilities for this position include: Providing technical support on hydrogeologic field projects. Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard geological techniques, procedures and criteria using judgment to make minor adaptations and modifications. Provides technical and administrative assistance to hydrogeology project managers. The initial position involves a significant percentage of field work that usually requires working under a hazardous site health and safety plan. Field work includes observations of drilling operations, including the installation of monitoring and groundwater recovery wells, collection and field classification of soil and rock samples, and conducting various borehole tests. Other field work includes groundwater and soils sampling, water level measurements, in-situ hydraulic conductivity tests and assistance on performance of aquifer tests. Office work will include field data reduction, data interpretation, preparation of technical text and providing administrative assistance to project managers. Office work will also include the technical evaluation of site groundwater flow and contaminant transport conditions and the development of groundwater transport flow models.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science degree (Masters degree preferred) in Geologic Engineering or Hydrogeology with 0 to 2 years applicable experience. Academic or work related experience in hydrogeologic field methods, understanding of geologic and groundwater flow principles and groundwater flow and transport modeling. Willingness for frequent travel and to work in a physically rigorous field setting. Must be sufficiently fit to be able to perform physical work while wearing an air-purifying respirator.
