Engineer/Chemist

Overview: The Fluids Separation Technology Group at Baker Petrolite currently has an opening for an Engineer/Chemist to work in the area of oilfield produced water treatment. The primary responsibility of the job is to provide technical expertise and service to field operations with respect to treating produced water. Although the job will involve some lab work at the central location in Houston, Texas, much of it will entail conducting test work at field locations to identify the best chemical products for demulsifying applications. Domestic and International travel is required for the job and will range from 50 - 70% of total work hours. The job is located in Sugar Land, Texas at the world headquarters of Baker Petrolite.Responsibilities:
Works in any of the following disciplines: Quality, Software, Mechanical, R&D, Petroleum, Civil, Electrical, Chemical or Reservoir. Plans and conducts research, design and development of standard engineering assignments. Assignments can be a significant portion of a larger project. Selects engineering techniques to solve problems and makes sound design recommendations. Assesses results for applicability, validity and conformance to specifications. May be the lead engineer on smaller project with some functional supervision. Usually works with minimum supervision, conferring with superior on unusual matters. May be assisted by entry or junior or level personnel. Assists in project planning and review. Assignments are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity.
