Engineer

Overview: The Gulf of Mexico Area Technology Group at Baker Petrolite has an immediate opening for an Engineer to work in the area of chemical applications in oilfield production. The primary responsibility of the job is to provide technical expertise and project management to field operations with respect to treating oilfield production problems. The job will involve office based engineering and project management work at the designated location Sugar Land, and it will entail some test work at field locations to identify the best chemical product and / or engineering solutions.Responsibilities:
Works in any of the following disciplines: Quality, Software, Mechanical, R&D, Petroleum, Civil, Electrical, Chemical or Reservoir. Plans and conducts research, designs, develops and executes phases of larger project or a total project of moderate complexity. May be the lead engineer on challenging projects with some functional supervision. Under general supervision, plans, conducts and supervises assignments. Reviews progress and evaluates results. Plans and assigns personnel for given projects or tasks. Recommends changes in procedures. Operates with some latitude in making autonomous decisions. Reviews progress with team/project leader.
