Engineer 5_Structural- Baton Rouge, LA

Position Summary: Performs a variety of engineering work in the initial planning and design phases of projects that may include coastal structures, ports, bridges, and housing projects required. May also support procurement and construction phases or projects with engineering knowledge and experience. Work activities include collection and interpretation of engineering data, development of project design basis, development of specifications, and performance of detailed engineering. Engineering Reports are often a work product. Ensures conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures.



Requirements: Requires Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering or equivalent. 10+ years structural experience in coastal environments. PE Required.

Job Conditions: Although the position is primarily based within an office setting, candidates must be able/willing to perform and/or oversee limited field activities, such as sampling and facility auditing. This could require the use of varying levels of personal protective equipment, depending on the nature of the site.



Travel for this position will mostly be limited to in state travel, but may require overnight stays on an infrequent basis.



Although work weeks are generally 40 hours, candidates should be prepared to work overtime, as needed to meet project goals.
