Job DescriptionPosition Summary:
Perform calculations design concrete, structural steel, site work, sewers bldgs etc.
Able to supervise designers/drafters.
Man-hour estimating and planning skills required.
Able to take lead on projects in the absence of the Sr. Engineer for structural projects.
Prepare project plans, specifications, drawings, detail reports and permit applications for subdivision, commercial development, multi-family developments and public projects.
Visit project sites to review construction projects, attend progress meetings, complete minutes and coordinate between client and contractor.
Communicate with client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate for projects.
Research code requirements and design procedures manuals. Verify design computations and plan detailing for conformance with codes, manuals, and design considerations. Input data into pre-written computer programs.
Requirements:
BS in Civil Engineering
Graduate from an accredited college or university.
5+ years of engineering experience.
P.E. in LA required.
Proficiently uses word processing, graphing and spreadsheet software
