Engineer 4-Mechanical- New Orleans, LA

Position Summary: Perform pipe and pump sizing support design and analysis for large scale water control systems in a coastal setting. Perform computer analysis and manual computations to demonstrate acceptability of existing or proposed water control systems. Prepare calculations and reports to document designs. Perform feasibility and constructability reviews; and support construction during installation process.



Requirements: BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. PE required. 8+ years in large scale water control systems piping, pump sizing type projects. Proficient in the use of computer software. Working knowledge of piping analysis modeling techniques and/or analysis of structural frames and welds a plus.



Job Conditions: Although the position is primarily based within an office setting, candidates must be able/willing to perform and/or oversee limited field activities, such as sampling and facility auditing. This could require the use of varying levels of personal protective equipment, depending on the nature of the site.



Travel for this position will mostly be limited to in state travel, but may require overnight stays on an infrequent basis.



Although work weeks are generally 40 hours, candidates should be prepared to work overtime, as needed to meet project goals.
