Engineer 4_Civil-Baton Rouge, LA

Position Summary:Perform as a senior geotechnical lead engineer on a variety of large scale civil/public works projects. Demonstrate knowledge of the geotechnical discipline with the ability to plan, organize, direct and participate in a small (2-5 person) multidiscipline engineering team performing investigations, design, and construction oversight. Must have good client skills and a general knowledge of other disciplines' technical interface activities. Ability to communicate and motivate staff to obtain optimum performance is a plus. Requires strong verbal and writing skills. Strong PC skills(including applicable geotech software applications) required.



Requirements: BS in Geotechnical Engineering degrees required. PE license and minimum 8 years geotechnical engineering and consulting experience in coastal environments, preferably LA, required. Experience shall include the preparation of geotechnical site investigation and laboratory test programs, scope of work documents, interpretation of field data and laboratory data, field oversight of geotechnical investigations, broad analytical capabilities, geotechnical report preparation, development of foundation design criteria, and preparation of calculations (bearing capacity, settlement, liquefaction potential, stability analysis, etc.). Field experience providing QA and construction oversight is required.



Job Conditions: Although the position is primarily based within an office setting, candidates must be able/willing to perform and/or oversee limited field activities, such as sampling and facility auditing. This could require the use of varying levels of personal protective equipment, depending on the nature of the site.



Travel for this position will mostly be limited to in state travel, but may require overnight stays on an infrequent basis.



Although work weeks are generally 40 hours, candidates should be prepared to work overtime, as needed to meet project goals.
