Engineer 3 - Miami Lakes, FL

Position Description: Will demonstrate superior technical knowledge of engineering discipline(s) to perform required tasks. Excellent staff management skills will be applied to recruiting/hiring, training, and salary administration. Will establish technical procedures and guidelines for engineering and design activities. Responsible for establishing and reinforcing these standards of practice within the organization. Maintains consistency through periodic surveillance and manages the judicious use of overhead in achievement of these objectives. Works closely with operations staff to establish project staffing, and with business development to support the sales process related to engineering. Has excellent client skills and a strong understanding of all project related technical issues. Has ability to motivate staff to obtain optimal performance.

Requirements: BS in civil or environmental (MS preferred) with at least 5 years experience in civil/environmental engineering design. Familiarity with the FDEP Pre-approval program is highly desired, ability to quickly learn the management requirements of this program. Candidate should have a strong background in FDEP regulation, contamination site assessment, remediation system design, and project management skills. Must possess excellent report and proposal writing skills and superior ability to interface with customers. Must be a Florida-licensed P.E. or capable of obtaining reciprocity and have 40-hour OSHA-HAZWOPER training and current refresher training (no exceptions). Must have excellent technical and interpersonal skills.

Job Conditions/Environment: Candidate will be expected to mentor junior staff, work with other senior staff to "grow" new work with existing or new clients, provide review and oversight of construction, engineering and remedial projects managed and directed by the Miami Lakes office. Must be able to work independently on hazardous waste sites and meet the 40-hour OSHA physical requirements (includes wearing PPE and a full-faced respirator). Some lifting and physical work will be required. Some overtime and weekend work will be required to meet project deadline.
