Engineer 2 - Structural

Duties & Responsibilities: Perform field investigations and prepare structural calculations, drawings, specifications and estimate construction costs related engineering projects with emphasis on site development facilities; water treatment, storage and conveyance facilities; wastewater treatment and conveyance facilities; and stormwater management facilities. Plan, schedule, conduct, coordinate, and in a supervisory capacity, make decisions independently and direct the development of structural engineering projects. Work with other HSMM staff and CAD technicians to complete project deliverables. Assist Business Development in pursuing new work including participation in client presentations. Perform other duties as assigned. Education: BS Civil Engineering with emphasis in structural engineering. Experience: (5 - 10) years comprehensive structural engineering experience with designing structural systems including coordination with other disciplines.
Demonstration of the desire and ability to succeed through past accomplishments (examples, above average GPA, work successes, professional and civic leadership, participation in service organizations, awards and honors).
Ability and experience in working in a team environment. Other Requirements: Licensed Professional Engineer .
Limited travel as required to meet training and project requirements.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with others.
Experience using Outlook and Microsoft Office (or similar software) Additional Education, Experience: MS Degree preferred. Background in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structural design for buildings, foundations, parking structures, and civil type structures. Familiarity with STADD and/or RAMSTEEEL desirable.
