Embedded SW Engineer (Bluetooth) - Bay Area
Job Area: Information TechnologyRole: Web Systems and Java Application Server Lead will be responsible for the architecture design, implementation, and support of Web infrastructure solutions for complex MediaFLO USA applications.
Will set up, configure and maintain enterprise class web-based and middleware systems, including B2B extranets.
Will work with extended teams to determine infrastructure requirements and make architectural recommendations.
Will support deployment and configuration of J2EE
applications from development to production environments.
Will monitor web environments for availability and performance, applying patches and updates.
Will troubleshoot web issues, support help desk, take part in on-call pager rotation and respond to critical situations.
REQUIREMENTS
Skills/Experience: Must have a strong Sysadmin background in Linux and/or Solaris, and a minimum of 5 - 10 years experience implementing and supporting IT infrastructure with focus on web technologies and web-based business applications.
Demonstrated understanding of building, testing, and deploying applications on Java Application servers required.
Technologies supported include but are not limited to: Apache HTTP Servers, Tomcat, JBoss, and WebSphere Application Servers, PHP, Perl, MySQL, FTP, SSL Encryption, Web Statistics and Analytics, Wikis, Blogs, Forums, RSS, and Web Content Management Systems.
Experience architecting infrastructure for highly available, multi-tier web-based systems required.
Experience with JSR-168 compatible Portal frameworks including IBM, Oracle, or Jetspeed a must.
Experience with SiteMinder, LDAP, and Web Services security a must.
Experience with Web Search technologies including Verity UltraSeek and the Google Search Appliance is a plus.Additional Skills: Should be familiar with gathering performance metrics, designing monitoring schemes and troubleshooting complex web-based systems.Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required.@HJ
