Our client, a cutting-edge electronics manufacturing facility in Central New York, has an immediate requirement for an experienced and highly-versatile Electronics Test Engineer. This is a direct hire, career opportunity for the right candidate.
Description:
Support the testing requirements of low volume, high complexity and high volume, low complexity manufacturing lines of electronic products. Tests include, but are not limited to, environmental and HASS testing. Design the testing, work with automated test station vendors to specify needed equipment, program the test stations, implement and oversee testing, and train Test Technicians. Interface with test station vendors to resolve any issues. Interface with outside suppliers of components (such as PCBs) as needed to address testing issues. Debug test procedures. Investigate product failures and perform root cause analysis. Manage data capture and reporting. Some travel required to support test function at supplier sites.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering plus minimum 5 years of related experience. Experience testing and troubleshooting complex digital, analog and mixed-signal circuit board assemblies to component level. Working knowledge of electronic test equipment to include: oscilloscopes, power meters, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, etc. Ability to support test automation for analog, RF microwave, and digital testing. Working knowledge of the design and construction of custom automated test fixtures. Experience in the technical writing of work instructions, flow tags, and the interpretation of engineering documentation. Competent in computer skills to include Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD. Experience in programming to include LabVIEW, TestStand, C and Matlab a plus. Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent training preferred.
