Electronics Hardware Engineer

SUMMARY
This an R&D engineering position that offers a significant opportunity for innovation and creativity. You will be working in a team environment developing thermal management systems. The focus of this position will be to create brushless DC motor and stepper motor controllers as well as manage R&D projects for advanced thermal management applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Power Electronics Control Design
Project Engineering
Specifying Electronic Components and Systems
Progress Reporting
Develop and design brushless DC motor controllers
Documentation Review
Design controller schematics
Build, test and debug prototype software
Manage multiple projects/programs
Launch products into production
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BSEE with a minimum of 5 years of Power Electronics Design Engineering • Excellent engineering communications and documentation skills • The ability to work in a team environment on a number of projects at once • The ability to learn as well as teach new concepts quickly

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Automotive or Military electronics design experience • Project Management Experience (design reviews, FMEAs, DFM/DFA) • Experience in high power (2kW) BPM and stepper motor controls • Design tools: Matlab, Pspice/Electronics Notebook, Orcad, PCAD, Visual Basic, and MS Excel • Experience in power electronics layout with consideration of EMI/EMC

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Employee is often required to sit, talk, and hear in a general meeting environment. Employee is often required to travel to and from potential equipment suppliers. Employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move objects that may weigh as much as 30 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Job duties may require that the employee spend a significant amount of time in the shop and fabrication areas, as well as at the computer workstation. Vehicle calibration and testing may require occasional travel to test facilities and execution of tasks out of doors. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
