Electronic engineer

Purpose: General Position Description: Perform electronic designs from the conceptual stage to prototyping and production for Aerial Work Platform (AWP) applications. Plan and implement research methodology and procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects. Utilize CAD software to perform Schematic Capture and PCB Layout. Interface Software and Hardware to produce complete electronic designs.

Education and Training: BS degree in Electrical Engineering.
Prior Work Experience: At least 2 years experience with a strong background in analog and digital electronic design.

Specific Skill Requirements:

1. Ability to work on projects from the concept stage through to prototypes and production.
2. Ability to perform analog and digital designs using microprocessors, operational amplifiers, A/D?s, logic gate devices, relays etc.
3. Ability to design multiplexed systems using the UART, RS485, RS232 etc. Knowledge of CAN bus a plus.
4. Confer with engineers, product managers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products
5. Knowledgeable of electronic components and suppliers; able to assist material personnel with the selection of alternative components.
6.Able to use CAD software such as Protel/Altium and AUTOCAD for Schematic Capture and PCB Layout.
7. Familiar with C/C++ to write up embedded software for microcontrollers such as Motorola, Cypress PSoC etc. Knowledge of Visual Basic a plus for writing Graphical User Interfaces (GUI?s)
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and an above average ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.

1. Provide necessary electronics technical support, whenever needed.
2. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
