(Electricity) Market Operations Support Specialist

Summary of Responsibilities

The Senior Market Operations (MOS) Support Specialist supports the restructured electricity market in Texas, assisting with the functional support of the ERCOT market place. The Sr. Market Operations Support Specialist is expected to know all functions of MOS, ERCOT business rules, protocols and procedures, and will analyze the ERCOT market, generate market reports, and relay changes to Market Participants via Client Service Representatives.

Essential Job Functions

· Lead ERCOT Market Definition teams to analyze and development the market

· Research Market Participants disputes with the ERCOT market

· Address Market Participant needs on support operations

· Provide rapid response to Market Participants via Client Service Representatives

· Develop and manages market reports

· Develop and maintain working knowledge of ERCOT operations needed to support clients' business needs

· Communicate and apply ERCOT protocols

· Analyze ERCOT market operations

· Propose new solutions for data acquisition and reporting

· Escalate issues to Manager Market Operations Support in a timely manner

· Generate and/or review presentation materials for Market Participants and board meetings

· Develop working knowledge of system integration

· Monitors system interfaces
REQUIREMENTS
Experience and Education

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Sciences, Engineering, or related field (an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered)

· Minimum 7 years related work experience

· Working knowledge of electric utility operations required

· Minimum 3 years of analyst and/or engineer experience preferred

· Strong problem solving and technical skills

· Proficient computer skills in Excel, Access and Word

· Effective written and verbal communication skills
