Electrical Principal Engineer, lead developer

Position for a highly experienced Electrical Engineer designing electronics for machine control applications. As a lead developer you will work with small teams of engineers to gather requirements, design, document, debug and deploy circuitry to control high speed mail processing equipment. You will maintain schedule integrity for the team's engagements, ensure architectural integrity and ensure that the solution meets all requirements. To be successful, you must demonstrate good project management, communication and electronics development skills and demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast paced, multidisciplinary group design environment.
REQUIREMENTS


10 years experience with electronics development over the full life cycle process

5 years experience designing circuits with PALs, FPGAs, micro-controllers and DSPs

5 years experience designing firmware in C or assembler

Degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering

Demonstrated proficiency of analog and digital design techniques

Demonstrated proficiency designing circuits interfacing with sensors, solenoids, motors, etc.

Proven troubleshooting skills for solving system level problems which span multiple disciplines including mechanical and software issues.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to converse with engineers and non-engineers of diverse backgrounds

Desired Qualifications

Experience with CCD and laser based scanning systems, including frame grabbers and knowledge of basic optical principles.

Experience with motion control and servo motor control

Knowledge of commonly used machine control protocols and communication methods

Knowledge of electronics design for industrial applications and environments.

Knowledge of mailing and paper handling applications
