Electrical Engineer (Physical/System)

Purpose: Our client is a leading consulting engineering firm in North America. They currently require an Electrical System (Physical) Engineer to work on a 9 month contract to help support several Nuclear Power Generation customers including Bruce Power in Ontario Canada. The position will be based out of our client?s Chicago office.

The successful Electrical Physical Designer will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following job functions:
- Designing the location of Electrical Equipment taking into account equipment removal, access, maintainability, etc.
- Designing the raceway, i.e.: conduit, duct runs, cable tray, etc., and the ability to design the supports for a safety related, and seismic installation, as required.
- Routing cables and understand cable and conduit bend radii issues.
- Performing competent design walkdowns.
- Sizing junction boxes and pull boxes.
- Reading and understanding the other discipline's drawings, communicating with them and operating so as to avoid any interference or conflict with other discipline responsibilities.

The following skills and knowledge are required in this role:
- Understanding the NEC, the Canadian Electrical Code, and the utilities
design standards.
- The ability to understand the project installation requirements and design accordingly.
- A clean criminal record and ability to be badged.
- An ASL (S&L) Nuclear Electrical Designer must adhere to the attached
Electrical Physical Design Process to be either and "RS" or "Q".
- Be a Physical Designer in the Electrical field specifically.
- Ability to travel throughout North America
