Job DescriptionMDG44 Electrical Designer
Position Responsibilities : Deliver complete and accurate detailed design drawings including connection diagrams, termination details, schematics, load lists, etc. Determine suitable component selection as new or replacement item in new or existing designs and prepare Bills of Material. Prepare or assist in preparation of commercial component or engineered equipment specifications. Prepare and develop new design concepts and details. Create designs that function in a reliable and safe manner (OSHA) with adherence to NEC and other codes and standards. Protect confidential and intellectual property. Provide design support for current production products. Coordinates work efforts with engineers, junior designers, and drafters. Review engineering changes and provide input as to cost (design manhours) and schedule impacts. Works closely with one or more Engineers and may direct and oversee the work of junior designers and drafting support.
Required Qualifications : Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical/I&C Engineering Technology with a minimum of 10 years design experience in a related manufacturing design environment. Or Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of related design experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD 14 (or higher) is required. Required knowledge includes working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC); IEEE and ANSI standards; NEMA standards; OSHA and NFPA 101 requirements; general design principles and techniques; PLCīs; 24 VDC, 120VAC and 480 VAC power systems. Must be capable of producing electrical schematics, power and controls termination and connection diagrams, equipment arrangements, detailed cable routing layouts, single-line load lists, panel schedules, lighting layouts and grounding details. Must be organized, technically competent, have effective oral and written communications, experienced in working in a multi-disciplined environment and interfacing with engineers, designers, and drafters.
Desired Qualifications : A working knowledge of French is a definite plus. Familiarity with encoders, positioning systems, PLC control systems, conveyors and lifts and other product transportation systems, encoders, bar code readers, and automated manufacturing is desired. Experience with powder transportation equipment (vibrating conveyors, hoppers, etc.), drum handling, or gloveboxes design is plus. Previous experience with XGE-XAO design software products (specifically SEE 4000) is a plus. Proficiency in AutoCAD 14 (or higher) is highly desired.

MDG44 Electrical Designer
